The Love Story
A story whose beginnings started out online (thank you Bumble)but flourished to where we are today. An instant connection led to long hours of conversation and a realisation that they had a lot of uncanny interests. Huge believers in the red string theory, they believe their lives have somehow been connected by destiny. Three weeks later they had moved in together. Six months later they had quit their jobs and embarked on an adventure to South East Asia. Nicoles home. They quickly realised that they wanted to share their lives living by the sea and as Cameron grew up in Cornwall it seemed like the perfect place to put down roots.

The Engagement
Amidst the wildest of Cornish weather one December day, on a beach they've walked many times, Cameron proposed. A very unassuming but perfect proposal. Fast forward to that evening and I received a dm from a very excited Nicole telling me how she'd got engaged and that I was one of the first people she thought of. The telling of love stories. The joy you witness. I really don't take for granted. That feeling when someone values your craft that much they can't wait for you to document it. We got to work planning out a vision and location for the shoot. We settled on Perranporth Beach. With its sand dunes, impressive landscape and vast beach, it seemed like the perfect option.

Delving deeper into my couples, putting the work in and really getting an understanding of who they are collectively and individually, allows me to gather a picture. I knew that Nicole and Cameron wanted an editorial edge and were happy to experiment. Happily stepping outside of the box a little and doing things that felt authentically them. This included adding an element that represented the red string theory they hold so dear and attribute to bringing them together.

We finished off our session with a frolic on the beach. The pace of the session can be as slow or as energetic as you'd like. We are all so different and what may be comfortable for one couple might not be for others, so we change it up, we adapt and we make sure that you aren't doing anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. I'm a conversationalist at heart and think that's the best tool to put people at ease and to make them feel less like they are on a photoshoot and more like they are hanging out with a friend. Having an engagement session can be great for couples who feel apprehensive about being photographed on their wedding day. It allows me to be more efficient with my time when that day comes and you are instantly more comfortable as you know what to expect.

Has this encouraged you to consider an engagement shoot? If so then let's have a chat.
Lots of love
